Uber HR Chief’s promises not to fail staff again

Following the resignation of Uber Chief Executive Travis Kalanick last week, following pressure on his position after HR blunders, the companies Chief of Human Resources Liane Hornsey, has reassured employees promising: “We will not fail you again.”

The popular figure Kalanick had helped Uber’s rise over the last few years but faced pressure to stand down after it emerged the companies culture was deemed abusive, sexist and discriminatory.

Many Uber employees are said to be fearing uncertain leadership as well as potential financial changes for the company. Questions raised about the company culture, an important part of any successful business, were met by, Ann Bordetsky, an Uber Business Development Executive, who wrote an email to “the women of Uber,” stating that they have the company’s full support.

Mrs Hornsey has also said that employees can now escalate complaints quickly as people within the company have been assigned cases. Employees at the company will now also be given the opportunity to be interviewed for open positions suitable for their qualifications in all circumstances.
